Calling every previous New Graduate Nurse RN applicant. They were interested in your facility once and many of these RN’s are still interested. Our experience has shown that there are generally five times the number of applicants for New Grad positions as there are openings. This is an incredible resource.
We create a boomerang list with the Hiring Managers to bring back nurses who have resigned in the recent years. Hospitals are making improvements all the time. Shifts open up. Compensation increases. Nurse to patient ratios decrease. There are many reasons not to take it for granted that these nurses will not be interested in learning about these changes.
We mine your database. There are so many applicants in your system that are not being contacted for various reasons. A great example is when a department decides they are in a position to train experienced nurses into new specialties. We find the Emergency Department Nurse who wants to be trained in Labor and Delivery or the Operating Room or the ICU.
Employee Referral Programs definitely work. We make them work better. We call every employee hired within the last two years and personally ask for a referral. The results are phenomenal.
